If two monitors are not displayed normally. We currently have GPOs in place for our Windows 7 machines that turn off the display after 5 minutes via computer power settings and lock the computers 10 minutes later via the blank screensaver with 'Password protect the screen saver' enabled. With either unplugged/disabled or both, sleep works again. Right-click the Windows desktop and select Display Settings from the drop-down list. SOLUTION: See my own answer below, but it was the combination of USB joystick plugged in AND Nvidia Geforce Experience overlay enabled. Once the Control Panel opens up, click on the Choose when to turn off the display on the left-hand side. At first, right-click on the Windows icon and click on the Run. Go to System and click on the Power menu. You have to alter the sleep settings on your computer.

I've tried everything!? This is on a PC (not laptop) running Windows 10 Pro. The screen timeout length can be anywhere from two minutes to five hours. It will not turn off after inactivity, neither from the desktop, nor from the lock screen. There are many posts about the display not sleeping when idle.
